Leeds Fertility has designed a pathway with a checklist for women with significant health conditions who need IVF for infertility or fertility preservation before cancer treatment.

This is a groundbreaking approach and the pathway has helped with the efficient assessment of those women who require treatment for cancer and has shortened the turnaround times to co-ordinate egg retrievals in operating theatres.

Mariano Mascarenhas, Clinical Fellow at our unit presented this checklist at the 2nd UK Fertility Preservation conference held at Oxford on 14th September.

The conference was also attended by Dr Catherine Hayden, Marnie Cope and Prof Helen Picton.  It provided the team at Leeds Fertility with useful knowledge to help us with our aspirations to set up ovarian tissue preservation service at Leeds Fertility
