Vicki Rawnsley is Lead nurse and co-ordinator of the private patients within Leeds Fertility. She is the person who carries a phone for all private patients having IVF/ICSI treatments and this number will be given patients at the nurse consultation appointment.
Vicki started work within fertility nursing 18 years ago as a junior nurse at the Leeds General Infirmary. She has always had a passion for fertility nursing and this has helped the development of her role in both clinical and research infertility nursing.
She worked for 2 years at a satellite unit (Bradford) so she understands the patient pathway from all angles and endeavours to understand and empathise in all areas o the patient journey.
Vicki says that her Masters in Advanced Practice has enabled her to become an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within an area she loves to work in and a unit she respects.
"Inspiration in my work comes from feeling I can do the best for my patients and make their pathway easier if possible- no question is ever a silly one!"
Outside of work, Vicki is passionate about exercise: she trains around 5 times a week, and find this helps as a stress release and enables her to focus on the day ahead.
