Our Counsellors


Our skilled counsellors provide counselling support to all of those who feel they need to talk to a professional during what can be an emotional time. 

Angela Pericleous-Smith

Angela has worked as a Counsellor for 19 years, joining Leeds Fertility in 2004. Previously, working with one-parent families, survivors of rape and abuse and as a Children’s counsellor for the NSPCC.

Angela has a BSc in Therapeutic Counselling (Leeds Met), MA in Psychoanalytical Studies (Leeds Met) and PG Certificate in Supervision (St. Johns, York). Angela is Chair of the British Infertility Counsellors Association (BICA), Deputy Chair of BICA’s Accreditation Board and a BICA Trainer providing training to other fertility counsellors to promote the highest standards of fertility counselling.

Angela offers support, therapeutic and implications counselling to couples and individuals exploring their fertility and considering assisted conception or fertility preservation and people experiencing infertility, secondary infertility and people who are involuntarily childless.

Angela’s interests include all aspects of assisted conception, donation treatment, surrogacy and gender dysphoria.

Jade Langridge

Jade started working in the unit as part of the admin team and has a number of roles with Leeds Fertility including clerical officer, laboratory support witness, admin supervisor and assistant patient service coordinator. Alongside this, while working full time, she pursued hermy passion for counselling, completing a three year part time masters in Relationship Therapy, whilst also seeing couples and individuals at Relate.

Jade then had the opportunity to combine her two professional worlds, knowledge and interests through joining the infertility counselling team at Leeds Fertility. She has witnessed the emotional roller-coaster that going through this process can be and her range of experience really helps her to understand and support patients, whether emotionally or empowering them to make the right treatment decision.

In her spare time,  she loves a games night with friends and reading - her favourite book is Philip Pullman’s trilogy, His Dark Materials.

Pam Mather

Pam is a person-centred counsellor who originally trained as a mental health nurse and is now an accredited member of BICA .Having qualified as a counsellor she began a career in the fertility field within licensed clinics in 2000.Working collaboratively with individuals and couples she strives to recognise and acknowledge the impact and emotional distress fertility issues can have on life and relationships.
